Who can Apply
Fishery participants eligible for funding include commercial fishing businesses, charter/for-hire fishing businesses, qualified aquaculture operations, processors, and other fishery-related businesses. These fishery participants should work with their Department of Agriculture region, through the Marine-Fishery Management Program to understand the process for applying for these funds.


Who is Eligible
Fishery Participants eligible will be the ones, license and in compliance, with economic losses greater than 35% compared to the 5 years average due COVID-19. These include, without excluding others, persons, fishing communities, aquaculture business, processors or other fishery related businesses or subsistence fishery participants where COVID-19 negatively impacted subsistence, cultural, or ceremonial fisheries.
Given the broad range of fisheries and entities affected the Department of Agriculture, will identify which fishery participants meet the requirements described in Sec. 12005(b)(1)-(2). Puerto Rico, will use the register of commercial license and surrendered fisheries statistics mandated by The Marine Fisheries Regulations – 2010 (Regulation No. 7949), provide by the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA).
